Wireless Pet Containment System

Safety for your pet, simplicity for you!

The PetSafe Wireless Containment System is a simple, yet effective alternative to traditional outdoor fencing or buried wire fencing. Instead of using spools of boundary wire around your yard, the PIF-300 uses radio frequency to guard your pet against straying. The system is also portable, allowing you to provide a wireless pet area when traveling.

Travel with Your Pet
Wish there was a way to contain your dog while on vacation at a lake home, ski cabin, or RV trip? The PetSafe Premium Wireless Fence is the only portable and wireless training fence that gives your dog the same freedom and safety to run and play that he gets at home.
Wireless Pet Containment System Features:

  • Wireless radio-fence containment system for pets weighing 8 pounds or more.
  • Covers an adjustable circular area of up to a 1/2 acre (180-foot diameter).
  • Receiver delivers safe static correction when pet strays into warning zone - make sure the washers on the probes are tightly secured.
  • Waterproof receiver collar uses 6-volt battery; setup and training manual included.
  • Transmitter measures 8-1/2 by 9 by 9 inches; receiver measures 1 by 2 by 1 inches.
The PetSafe Wireless Fence pet containment system is a revolutionary concept that provides the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever. Plug in the transmitter somewhere inconspicuous in your home. The transmitter emits a 17.5 kHz radio signal around your home. Your pet wears a lightweight receiver collar that listens" for the signal. While the collar is receiving the signal your dog is free to run and play in your yard. When he approaches the boundary of the signal area he receives a warning beep. If your dog does not return he receives a static correction which is startling but not harmful. With a little simple training your dog will quickly learn his boundaries. The training of your pet is a key element with the PetSafe Wireless Fence. Follow the easy instruction and training manual that is included. For use in the US only. This unit is compatible with all US 110v outlets and are not to be used with 220v international voltage."

With the Wireless Containment System, you can keep pets over 8 pounds safely contained in the area of your choosing. Simply plug in the transmitter and it will emit a constant radio signal from an adjustable range of up to 90 feet in all directions. Typically, full set-up takes less than an hour and no installation, wire burying or stakes are required.

To begin training with the PIF-300, temporarily define the safe pet area with boundary flags as a visual aid to the pet. Activate the receiver collar and adjust accordingly to fit them, ensuring the contact points are touching the neck. The system should be used with dogs six months or older, and set-up and training manuals are included.

When the pet strays into the warning zone, the receiver collar will give a warning beep. If they continue past the warning zone, a safe, static correction is delivered through the contact points until they return to the safe pet area.

Works Gr8 for 2-acre property and two rambunctious dogs!!
Bylisaccrn89on July 3, 2015
Bought two of these for our 2 acre property. Our yorkie-poo and Dobe like to chase and greet walkers and stray dogs in our rural area. This product worked great to keep them inside our yard, but gives them plenty of running space to play!! We purchased extra pink flags on Amazon.com to mark the boundary lines. Awesome product!! We loved this so much that I just purchased another one for our campsite!!

Other than the large size of the unit (put it in our cupboard and ran the cord along cabinets) and the fact that it covers a circular radius, it has worked great and our dog is back to staying in the boundary of our yard. Our yard is a rectangle and we let our dog out the front and back of our house. We had to measure carefully from unit to boundary line in front so he doesn't roam close to street. This limited the range in the back of our house to 1/2 the depth of our yard, but better safe than sorry.

Great product and support

Great product and supportI had 2 of these collars "go bad" on me. I was about to order a 3rd, but something kept nagging at me to call PetSafe after reading they had a replacement option after the warranty was expired. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED FOR SUPPORT after the first one! :) The PetSafe agent had me bend the metal battery tab with the bump on it up (be careful not to break it!) & both collars worked perfectly again. I don't know why I didn't think to try that. Also, the agent was very pleasant, spoke clear English, & my hold time was just a couple minutes. Thank you PetSafe for making great products & having great support.
Yes, there are a couple downfalls to this product, but they ALL beat putting in a wired fence for me since I would have to go under an asphalt. The downfalls I have encountered are my two dogs do get out on occasion & some days their collars beep once randomly & somewhat frequently when they are laying around the house (other days, we never hear a beep). When they get out (which is very rare - maybe 5 times in 5-10 years), I don't know if it is a fluctuation in the wireless signal, if they just don't care (because they are going after stray cats in an abandoned building next to us...I would imagine that is too tempting & exciting to care about the shock sometimes, ha!), or both. The beep inside scares them, so I feel bad for that, but it doesn't appear to shock, which it shouldn't be by the way it is designed. PetSafe recommends they don't wear the collars inside, but it is a hassle to take them on & off, especially during the summer when we are in & out so much. Also, outside, it seems like sometimes they don't hear the beep if they are barking non-stop & loudly because suddenly they'll yelp & run back towards the house, but again, they may just be ignoring it. Even considering all of this, I love this system and recommend it highly. I would buy it again.

Great product, works as advertised
ByAmazon Customeron June 30, 2015
This system has worked really well for us. It's not ideal because it's a circle type of perimeter that isn't easily tailored to your yard, but we've made it work for us. But we liked the fact that we didn't have the extra work of burying the cable and we can take it with us - either when we visit out inlaws or when we eventually move. We have a large 70lb dog who responds very well to only the lightest setting - we've never had it switched any higher than "1".
Our only disappointment is that the collar battery seemed to expire very quickly, within two months. They easily sourced through Lowes or Home Depot, about $10 for two, which is decent.

Great product! Happy dog!

Our beagle loves it! Freedom!!! He learned his boundaries super fast and has never escaped. He never even tests the boundaries now. It's been 3 months with this system and no complaints.
